Woof-fest 2017 Festival for Dogs - June 25

Sydney’s most popular festival for dogs and their humans is heading back to Western Sydney Parkland's Warrigal Run (one of Sydney's largest off leash dog areas) at Bungarribee Park (near Blacktown, NSW) on Sunday 25 June 2017.

Now in its sixth year, Woof-fest is a fun free, community event for dog lovers of all ages. This year's Woof-fest is boasting an impressive line-up of live entertainment, dog skills demonstrations, expert advice from vets and dog trainers and kids’ activities.
There will be:

  • Talks by expert veterinarian Dr Peter Higgins
  • Tips from dog behaviourist Laura Vissaritis - author of the new Dognitive Therapy book
  • Training techniques with Farmer Dave Graham
  • Advice from Sydney-based animal trainer Ryan Tate
  • Cooking demonstrations by Pet Nutritionist Naoko Okamoto from Chew Chew Pet Restaurant.

Does your dog bear a resemblance to Snoop-dog, Madogga, Bark Obama, J.K. Growling or Queen Elizabark? The Search for the Next SuPaw Model contest is now calling for dogs of all shapes and sizes to dress as celebrity look-alikes and strut their stuff on the 'dog walk' during the dog-fashion parade at 12pm.

Head Judge Jay Lee – designer and pet fashion stylist for Runway Pooch  - will critique the dogs' performances and decide which pooch is the paw-fect celebrity look-alike!

Entry is free and prizes will be awarded for best celebrity look-alike (1st place - $300 worth of designer clothes and accessories from Hamish McBeth and Petbarn), best in show for most impressive walk or trick (2nd place - $150 gift voucher from Hamish McBeth) and people's choice (3rd place - $100 Dogue gift voucher). To enter your pet in Woof-fest's Search for a SuPaw Model, you will need to complete the entry form here.

Sporn Marrow Chew Bone

The Sporn Marrow Chew Bone (originally called the Yuppie Puppy ) is a jerky-flavour filled chewable nylon bone, which promises to control tartar and plaque, assisting with your dog's dental health. After putting it to the test for a number of years with our three Belgian Shepherds, we can attest that it is great for the toughest of chewers and may even save some of your furniture or shoes. Especially recommended during the puppy phase, when your dog is constantly teething and needs something to chew. Chewing this bone is similar to brushing their teeth. As the nylon shreds, it becomes like bristles, removing tartar and plaque build-up from the teeth. These interactive dental chew toys are unique to most other flavoured nylon bones as the marrow is added after the bone has been moulded and cooled. After trialling other brands on the market, we found that the marrow makes the difference and keeps our dogs coming back for more. Our dogs can surely smell it long before they can t...
